This treatment starts with a gentle exfoliation peel to renew the skin at the deepest level. The rose quartz crystal stone used in this treatment has many healing and anti-ageing benefits. Massage with the crystal helps to drain puffiness and unwanted toxins, contours the face, and helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and combined with an intense and deep sculpting manual massage leaves your skin renewed, toned, and you feel completely relaxed and rested. Want to know more about Environ Skin Care?

Environ is a globally recognised and loved Professional Skin Care brand that is built on science, beauty and care. They believe skin has a life and that vitamin A is the “oxygen” it needs to look healthy and beautiful for life.

Your skin depletes vitamin A daily, and deficiencies in vitamin A within the skin leads to skin abnormalities such as acne, pigmentation, lines and wrinkles. To maximise your skin’s health and resilience you need to be applying vitamin A daily, Environ Skin Care (Vitamin Step Up System) enables you to do this!

Environ facials are results driven treatments, they involve serums packed with active ingredients such as vitamins, antioxidants and peptides being driven deep into the lower layers of the skin using either small electrical pulses or sound waves or a combination of the two to achieve real results!

To find out more and book in for an Environ treatment simply call us on 0207 821 1020.

Essential Oils To Detoxify The Mind and Body

The first few days and weeks after a holiday abroad are always the toughest. After a week or two of pure relaxation and taking advantage of the all-inclusive buffet, you may find yourself lacking in energy, feeling bloated and experiencing post-holiday blues. It can be hard adjusting back into a normal routine again especially as work, school and everyday life can be at times stressful and monotonous. Alongside healthy eating, drinking plenty of water and engaging in regular exercise, aromatherapy massage will help to detox the mind and body. My favourite essential oils to use for detoxification are:

Rosemary oil

Rosemary oil can be used as a tonic for the liver, an organ important for detoxification; studies have found that it not only stimulates the production of bile (a waste product), rosemary oil can also help prevent damage to the liver. It is also good for clearing the mind and relieving headaches.

Grapefruit oil

Grapefruit oil has a high vitamin C content. This vitamin helps boost the immune system, which eliminates toxins from the body,  protects detoxification enzymes in the liver and may be directly involved in the removal of toxins. This uplifting oil also stimulates the lymphatic system which plays an important role in the elimination of waste.

Lemon oil

Lemon oil is known for purifying and cleansing the body; it promotes detoxification through the blood and the liver and stimulates the lymphatic system which further helps to remove waste. Try adding a slice of lemon to your water to help further cleanse the body and improve skin radiance.

Orange oil

Like Grapefruit oil, orange oil has a high vitamin C content and therefore helps to boost the immune system and protect detoxification processes in the liver. This oil also has a pronounced action on the lymphatic system and the digestive system therefore allowing the body to work at its peak performance and remove waste and toxins.

The oils which I have mentioned are just few of the many essential oils that can help with your overall wellbeing. At Moreton Place Beauty & Wellbeing following a consultation, I will choose the appropriate oils based on your individual needs.

You may wish to use aromatherapy to help solely with detoxification or you may want assistance with improving other conditions as well. The great thing about aromatherapy is that essential oils have many therapeutic benefits which can provide relief from multiple physical and mental conditions. However, to achieve the best possible results with aromatherapy I highly recommend booking a course of four treatments.

I look forward to seeing you soon for your aromatherapy treatment.

Please note aromatherapy massage appointments can only be booked on Wednesdays and Thursdays. To book simply call 0207 821 1020 or click here to book online.

The Best Essential Oils For Your Skin Type

Essential oils have been used for centuries to treat a number of skin types and conditions along with other ailments. As they are highly concentrated, they can be intensely nourishing and can improve the overall condition and appearance of your skin.

These oils are highly concentrated and need to be diluted in order to prevent a reaction, before using them at home it is best to read the manufacturer label. There are two ways you can use your essential oils at home to treat your skin: you can mix essential oils with a carrier/base oil such as almond or grapeseed oil and then apply to dry skin after having a bath or shower or you can add a few drops of essential oils to your bath (always read the instructions according to the manufacturer). With the added steam from the bath, your body will also benefit from the essential oils.

Carrier/Base oils

Almond oil – This is suitable for all skin types, particularly dry and sensitive skin.

Grapeseed oil – This is suitable for all skin types, particularly oily.

Jojoba oil – This is suitable for all skin types, particularly sensitive.

Avocado oil – This is suitable for dry, dehydrated and mature skins.

Essential Oils

Chamomile, Geranium and Lavender oils are analgesics and therefore are great for treating sensitive skins and eczema. Chamomile and Lavender oil can also treat psoriasis as well as sunburn.

For dry, mature skins I recommend Frankincense oil. It is good at treating scarring and pigmentation and it also helps to protect skin cells as it is an astringent.

For combination, oily and acne prone skins, I recommend Lemon, Orange, Rosemary, Geranium, Lavender, Rosemary, Tea Tree and Ylang Ylang. These oils are detoxifying, bactericidal and help to regulate sebum production. Citrus based oils such as Lemon and Orange should be used with caution as these can cause photosensitivity if skin is exposed to sunlight after application.

These are just a few of the many essential oils that can help with the overall condition and appearance of your skin.

At Moreton Place Beauty & Wellbeing, following a consultation I will choose the appropriate oils based on your individual needs. You may wish to use aromatherapy as a treatment to help improve symptoms solely associated with  treating a skin type/condition or you may want assistance with improving other conditions too. The great thing about aromatherapy is that essential oils have many therapeutic benefits which can provide relief from multiple physical and mental conditions.

To achieve the best possible results with aromatherapy I highly recommend booking a course of four treatments.

I look forward to seeing you soon for your aromatherapy treatment.

Facial Massage & The Benefits

For me a good facial massage can be very powerful to the condition and overall appearance of your skin.

In my opinion I do feel that with a good regular facial massage your skin and your facial muscles benefit in many ways; your skin will be nourished from the ingredients and your facial muscles will be toned to leave your facial contours redefined. Throughout my career I have always been an advocate for facial massage over electrical treatments as both your skin and facial muscles are treated.

Whichever facial you choose will usually incorporate some form of massage, however, the type of massage will be dependent on your particular concerns. When you have an anti-ageing facial massage, the movements will focus more on lifting, sculpting and re-defining the facial muscles and contours.  Facial massage will increase fresh oxygen to the skin which in itself is a completely natural form of anti-ageing for your complexion.  The increase of blood flow helps to stimulate collagen production and these combined equal a naturally healthy and glowing complexion!

For a congested or particularly oilier skin, a lighter pressure is always recommended so as not to overstimulate the sebaceous oil glands.  I would use a light detoxing massage which will aid the lymphatic flow encouraging a clear skin.  Detox massage has a deeply restorative feel and will also help to reduce puffiness or sinus congestion.

It is a helpful idea to take a couple of minutes using some simple massage movements whilst applying your skincare at home. You could even incorporate a two minute massage whilst you doing your morning cleanse to revive and depuff your skin for the day. After each facial I can always provide some simple massage techniques to suit your skin.

Essential Oil Blends for Stress

This month is Stress Awareness Month which aims to increase public awareness about stress, its causes, the negative impacts it has on one’s mind and body as well as provide tips on how to relieve it. Each and everyone of us will likely face stress at some point in their lives. However, too much of it can be detrimental to a person’s physiological and psychological wellbeing and can possibly lead to chronic and mental illness such as depression.

A healthy lifestyle is essential for a balanced mind and body. This includes eating a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, drinking enough water (we recommend two litres a day), and exercising on a regular basis. Taking time to relax every now and then is also just as important. It can be as little as going for a walk, reading a book or phoning a friend for a weekly catch up.

If you feel you need that extra boost, massage is a great stress reliever. Essential oils will also help to relax and calm the mind and body. The three oil blends that I would recommend for stress relief are:

Lemon, Chamomile and Ylang Ylang oil (with Grapeseed oil)

This blend is particularly good for those who suffer with hypertension. Lemon oil helps to boost the body’s immunity and also relieve respiratory infections such as the flu or throat infections which may have resulted from stress. Chamomile and ylang ylang oil have an overall calming effect on the mind and body. Like lemon oil, ylang ylang also helps to reduce high blood pressure.

Orange, Rosemary and Patchouli oil (with Grapeseed oil)

I highly recommend this blend for those who suffer with depression. Orange oil is a warming, radiant oil which can boost the body’s immunity weakened by stress. It is also an antidepressant and helps to relax the body and bring warmth to the mind. When we are stressed our concentration decreases and we become more forgetful, however, rosemary oil will help to clear the mind and improve memory. Patchouli oil has a balancing effect on the body, and like orange oil, can help fight stress related illnesses such as depression and anxiety.

Eucalyptus, Lavender and Frankincense oil (with Grapeseed oil)

Eucalyptus oil is one of my favourites to use because it has so many therapeutic properties. It has a calming effect on the mind and body, can help to boost the immunity and can also help with muscle pain and tension (symptoms of stress). Similarly, Lavender oil has a soothing and calming effect on the nerves, helps to relieve tension, headaches, migraines and insomnia and is good with treating symptoms of depression. Frankincense oil is very calming and can help treat symptoms of anxiety. It is also particularly good at slowing down breathing and can be used for meditation.

These oil blends are just a few of the many essential oils that can help with your overall wellbeing. At Moreton Place Beauty & Wellbeing, following a consultation I will choose the appropriate oils based on your individual needs.

You may wish to use aromatherapy as a treatment to help improve symptoms solely associated with relieving stress or you may want assistance with improving other conditions too. The great thing about aromatherapy is that essential oils have many therapeutic benefits which can provide relief from multiple physical and mental conditions. However, to achieve the best possible results with aromatherapy I highly recommend booking a course of four treatments.

ENVIRON COLLAGEN STIMULATION THERAPY (CST)

Collagen Stimulation Therapy (CST) is generally known as a Treatment as opposed to a Facial. It is advised for the client to be using Environ products for three months or more prior to this treatment to acclimatise the skin to Vitamin A.  This will prevent the skin from having a retinoid reaction which can cause sensitivity and leave skin very dry and flaky.

This treatment is extremely effective for focusing on the visible signs of ageing, acne scarring, slackened skin, uneven skin tone and dilated blood vessels.  It actually works by encouraging the natural powers of healing!

The treatment uses a roller with needles which are 0.3 mm diameter and are made of surgical stainless steel.

Here are some of the benefits of CST:

  • It restores skin’s tightness in the early signs of ageing making it an alternative to those clients who maybe considering a face-lift. You can see great results on the skin above the eyes as the elevation of eyebrows is through a natural result of healing.
  • It is an alternative to laser if the skin is too thin.
  • For acne scarring the results are much more effective to dermabrasion.
  • Fine lines are an excellent indication for CST.  They become visibly less apparent.
  • Scarring is improved and if the scars are discoloured they could also return to a more natural colour.

Having just one treatment may not make any dramatic changes so generally a course of six  treatments is recommended.  You can continue the needling until you get the results that you really want.

If you would like to learn a little more regarding this treatment and to ascertain whether it would be right for you please do not hesitate to call me on 0207 821 1020 or arrange for a full consultation to discuss any concerns you may have.
